Soft drink trivia

When you want to order your favorite soft drink, do you order a soda, pop or coke? If you're from the Northeast or California, the majority of people will order a soda. But if you're from the Midwest, Great Plains or Northwest, you most likely will ask for a pop. Throughout the South, most people say "coke," a derivative of Coca-Cola. This is understandable since the original manufacturer of Coca-Cola is in Atlanta.
Regardless of which term you prefer to say, soft drinks are a heavily consumed beverage: In the United States, the consumption of carbonated beverages averages approximately 50 gallons per year for every man, woman and child.
